JOHANNESBURG – The Eastern Cape is one of South Africa’s poorest provinces, hit by a technical recession this year.
In a bid to turn its economic fortunes around, Premier Oscar Mabuyane is looking east.

He has signed a letter of intent, to forge a bilateral partnership with the Chinese province of Jilin on trade, tourism and investment.
